Pony Club provides opportunities for instruction and competition in English
riding, horse sports and horse management. It is one of the leading Junior
equestrian programs in the world and is represented throughout 30 countries.
Pony Club offers programs that develop good sportsmanship, good horsemanship
and maturity. It is the intention of USPC that characteristics of
responsibility, moral judgment, leader ship and self-confidence, once
established, carry over into other areas of life.
Accomplishment of measured goals by individual riders is acknowledged
through levels of achievement, called ratings. A new member is classified as
'unrated' until such time as he or she takes an oral test and riding test to
become a D1 rider. As new standards are met, riders progress to higher
ratings. The ratings are, from beginner to advanced, D1, D2, D3, C1, C2, C3,
B, H-A, A.
